A blackhead is a buildup of excess oil in the pores. The oil in your skin can not make it up to the top of the skin to be cleaned out due to the dead cells that form a blockage in the pores.

When the oil is exposed to the air, it turns a dark color, and then can solidify into hard little pebbles that fit inside a pore. What’s the best and fastest way to get rid of blackheads? We know the fastest way is to squeeze the, but some of them are unsqueezable. Plus squeezing pimples or blackheads can be damaging to your skin, by causing bruising, scaring, and maybe infection.

It is recommended that when you are in a warm shower gently rub the wash cloth over your face. The warmth from the show will open up your pores and loosen up the dirt. If you are not in the shower you can place a warm compress over your face for 10 – 15 minutes. This will also open the pores, and loosen the dirt, making it easier to remove them.  After your pores have opened up cleansing with a mild soap, acne cleansers, exfoliates and masks, or a combination of these techniques.  When done cold water will close the pores, so dirt cannot get into the pores again.
